Colecovision was as powerful as home computers of the time, and the company actually planned to release an add-on module that would turn it into a home computer. This plan was scrapped, however, with the video game crash of the mid-1980s. The Colecovision came packaged with the ever-popular "Donkey Kong," a game whose "Mario" character would become the centerpiece of Nintendo's later success.
